Felipe Lamoglia is a Cuban Musician, Saxophonist, composer and arranger. Born in Holguin he started to play saxophone at the age of 8 years old at the Conservatory of Arts in his hometown, he also studied during the middle School in Camaguey, with teacher Alfred Thompson. Felipe went to the Superior Institute of Art (ISA) in Habana where he studied classical music with Miguel Villafruela. By the age of 18 he performed several gigs with Cuba’s popular band NG La Banda.

In 1992 he moved to Sao Paulo, Brazil where he lived for seven years and absorbed the country’s musical and spiritual wealth, playing with great Brazilian artists like Arismar de Espirito Santo, Edsel Gomez, Bocato, Cuca Teixeira, Sizao Machado. He also recorded with Raul de Souza & Conrad Herwick the album RIO.

Felipe played regularly with Trombonist Bocato, Also touring along Brazil  and Europe participating in the Montreux Jazz Festival on 1999. This same year Felipe relocated to the United States where he immediately began performing with locals artist including few engages with the Band of the late Cuban idol Celia Cruz.

In 2001 Felipe began playing regularly with Arturo Sandoval’s Band, performing all over the world and recording different albums such as Trumpet Evolution, and two DVD releases: Live at the Blue Note NYC and Live at the Ann Arbor Summer Festival. He contributed as arranger, composer and co-producer for Arturo Sandoval's Grammy-Winer album Rumba Palace, released in 2008 by Telarc Records.

Around 2004 Felipe joined Gonzalo Rubalcaba & The New Cuban Quartet” recording the album, "Paseo" (Blue Note Records), Also nominated to Grammy! Felipe traveled together with Gonzalo’s New Cuban Quartet around Canada, Brazil, Europe and USA, Performing in 2005 at Dizzy’s Coca Cola club in NYC. In 2006 Felipe arranged and played with Ignacio Berroa's debut solo album “Codes”, also released by Blue Note and nominated for a Grammy as well.

Throughout the years he has continued to develop his solo work  releasing his first solo CD  “Dimensions” in 2007.  Recorded in Brazil featuring Hiovanni Hidalgo, Armando Gola, Ignacio Berroa, Cuca Teixeira, Pepe Cisneros. The album incorporated Felipe’s Afro-Cuban roots with a blend of Brazilian music and straight-ahead jazz.

In 2009 he recorded with Eldar Djangirov on his album “Virtue”  released by Sony Music, participating of several concerts including the Blue Note Jazz Club in NYC, Clearwater Jazz Festival and more.

Along the years Felipe Lamoglia has shared the stage with musical giants such as Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Arturo Sandoval, Ignacio Berroa, Raul de Souza, Conrad Herwick, Edsel Gomez, Horacio Hernandez “El Negro, Giovani Hidalgo, Eldar Djangirov, Dafnis Prieto, Mike Rodriguez and many others, participating in major jazz festivals in United States and Europe, including JVC, Playboy, Newport, Heineken Jazz, Red Sea, and venues such as Blue Note, Iridium, Jazz Standard, Yoshi's, Dizzy's Club Coca Cola, Zinc Bar and more.

In January of 2013 Felipe performed at the Guzman Center for the Performing Arts at The University Of Miami, Together with The Frost School Jazz Orchestra he played an original material all written by Mr Lamoglia.

That same year he participated as special guest at Manguinhos Jazz Festivals in Victoria Espirito Santos, and Amazonas Jazz Festival, both celebrated in Brazil, Also teaching and offering master classes.

Felipe have been playing regularly since 2007 with Mr. Dafnis Prieto Sextet, performing around USA and Europe, in NYC they recently played fourth consecutive nights at Jazz Standard Club, also recording Danis Prieto’s album entitled  “ Triangles and Circles”

In April 31/2014 Felipe traveled with his Quintet to Haiti International Jazz Day sharing the stage with Mr Paquito D' Rivera, also on this year he recorded on the first solo album of Carlos Henriquez “The bronx Pyramid”, a talented bassist of Jazz at Lincoln Center Orquestra directed by Winton Marsalis .

At moment Felipe is a regular member of the famous artist KC & The Sunshine Band, touring along the world and USA !
